Tried to cash out $300 from DraftKings on May 22 while visiting family in Houston. Logged in at exactly 2:41 PM CT, didn’t play or deposit - just tapped the withdraw button. At 2:47 PM, I was logged out. By 2:52 PM, I got an email: “Your account has been restricted due to access from a prohibited jurisdiction.”
If anyone’s still wondering is DraftKings legal in Texas, this should clear it up. Just logging in from Texas triggers geolocation blocks. My withdrawal was canceled automatically by 3:06 PM, and I had to submit proof of travel and IP history to recover access. Took 3 days to unlock the account and get funds released
