Can Casinos Control Pokies to Stop Big Wins?

I’ve heard people say that if pokies (slots) are paying out too much, the casino can "flick a switch" to make them win less. Is there any truth to this? From what I understand, modern slot machines and online pokies use RNGs (Random Number Generators), meaning casinos can’t change payouts instantly. However, I’ve also heard about adjustable RTP (Return to Player) settings, where casinos might be able to tweak the long-term payout percentage.

So what’s the reality? Would love to hear from anyone who knows how it really works!

Honestly, it’s all about that RTP. They can adjust it, but it’s not like they can just flip a switch mid-game. It’s more of a long-term strategy.

I think there's a mix of truth and myth here. while RNGs keep things random I wouldn’t be surprised if casinos adjust RTP over time to maximize profits
