Greentube Alderney, a Novomatic subsidiary operating as Admiral Casino, has been hit with a £1 million settlement by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) for repeated failures in social responsibility and anti-money laundering (AML) measures. This comes after a £685,000 fine in 2021 for similar breaches.
UKGC’s Director of Enforcement, John Pierce, stated that while Greentube had made improvements, compliance checks still uncovered serious regulatory breaches. One case involved a customer whose bank statement showed a negative balance and gambling transactions, yet they were allowed to deposit £4,000 over four months before being reviewed. In another instance, a customer had over £100,000 in transactions flagged, but it took four months for action.
Pierce warned that repeat offenders should expect stricter enforcement. The UKGC is determined to ensure operators follow rules that keep gambling safe and free from crime, and Greentube will remain under close scrutiny.
