Book of RA Deluxe totally frustrated

I got $20 back from Sky Vegas through their weekend promo, so I thought I’d try it out. Played 200 spins on Book of RA. ZERO features, and the biggest win was ONE five of a kind that barely hit 15x. I thought, “Okay, maybe next round.” Another 200 spins, still nothing! Only about $1.20 left, and NO features. It’s like the game was just cold. High variance or not, this just feels wrong.
I was betting just 10c a spin, and Sky Vegas is one of the few places where you can play for 1c per line. So, why didn’t I just try Gonzo? I’ll never trust this slot again.
Anyone else had the same experience?

Yeah, Book of Ra can be savage. Last time I played, I went 400 spins before hitting anything over 20x. And when the bonus finally came, it paid 12x. Absolutely soul-crushing.
if you’re using promo money, stay far away from high variance slots like this, it’s a promo balance eater

in hindsight I have no idea why I kept spinning it. Probably that dumb little hope voice saying “this next one could be it!” Lesson learned though and I’ll stick to something gentler next time I get promo cash

Dude, I had almost the exact same session last month. Got $10 free, dumped it into Ra thinking “classic slot, decent RTP, how bad could it be?” Spun at 20cent for like 300 spins, didn’t even sniff a bonus.
Switched to Chicken Drop outta rage and got a bonus in 6 spins. Never touching Book of Ra again unless I’m playing with someone else’s money 😂

Never heard of Chicken Drop either... might be time to expand my list of “rage recovery” slots after gettin’ my ass handed to me today

People forget that Novomatic slots were literally built for physical casinos. Book of Ra was designed to burn slow and tease you into spinning longer. Online versions aren’t rigged per se, but the math is ancient and brutal. Newer slots have fake "features" and side wins to keep you engaged. Book of Ra gives zero comfort (old-school robbery lol).
Also, Sky Vegas promos are sneaky — they bait you into thinking small bets mean small risk

that actually explains a lot. Makes sense why the grind feels different from modern slots. And yeah, Sky’s promos look harmless, but it’s like death by 10c spins

Honestly, I'd rather blow promo money on starburst. At least you get a ton of small wins and some dopamine before the balance evaporates. book of ra version of entertainment is just slowly crushing your soul one dead spin at a time

100% agree. If I’m gonna lose promo cash, let me at least feel something for five minutes before it’s gone 😂

Ironic part is Book of Ra’s bonus can go nuts if it retriggers. But that’s like finding a unicorn riding a second unicorn through a casino

Whenever someone says Book of Ra’s "due," I laugh. That slot owes nobody anything. It’ll be ice cold for hours, drop one okay bonus, and still leave you down 80% of your balance. I remember hitting a full retrigger once and STILL only getting 120x. After playing Gates of Olympus and even Big Bass Bonanza, I just can't stomach that level of punishment anymore. Too old, too tired for these emotional rollercoasters

Slots are supposed to be fun, not an emotional hostage situation every damn session lol

Big thanks to everyone for the therapy session 😂 Misery loves company 😂 Good to know it wasn’t just me getting roasted
