DoubleDown Casino Is Just Plain Greedy

A few years back, DoubleDown Casino was one of the best social casinos on Facebook. It had over five million likes and felt like a solid place to play. Then in 2012, they sold out to IGT for a whopping $500 million, and everything went downhill.
Now people are paying real money for virtual chips—sometimes $99 at a time—only to have them vanish due to "technical issues." When players complain, all they get are generic responses and no refunds. It’s shady as hell. There are reports piling up with the FTC and BBB, and instead of fixing things, they recently changed their terms of service, making it even harder for players to fight back.
IGT is one of the most advanced slot developers in the world, yet their games are always "having issues" right when players lose millions of chips. Funny how that works. And now they’re planning to turn this into a real online casino? If this is how they operate when people are just buying virtual chips, imagine how they’ll handle real money.
This needs to be investigated. If they have a legit explanation, let’s hear it. But right now, it looks like a straight-up scam

I dumped way more into this crap than I’d like to admit. Last time I bought $50 worth of chips — gone in under 15 mins. No bonuses, no hits, just straight Ls. Hit up support and got hit back with full-on radio silence

They replied to my BBB complaint with a copy-paste from their TOS that basically said, we don’t owe you shit. No apology, no fix, just a big ol’ middle finger

Dropped 6+ mil chips last week and support hit me w/ “user error.” Bro, your damn game crashes every other spin — it’s barely playable half the time. Doesn’t matter if I’m on desktop or mobile, it just freezes up or boots me mid-round like clockwork. This time it froze right in the middle of a bonus round, and somehow I’m the one at fault? Tf kinda logic is that? Fix your broken-ass app before blaming players for your own tech mess.

They make losses look like “bad luck,” but it’s just straight rigged. You might snag a lil win right after you buy in — that’s the bait. After that... GG, it’s all downhill

It’s psychological manipulation wrapped in fake slots, they let you win just enough to get comfortable, then flip the switch

People act like it’s just chips, but once you’re buying that sh*t with real money, it ain’t a game anymore — it’s straight-up gambling with zero legal protection

@courtney23 I’m glad someone finally said this out loud. I’ve filed FTC complaints twice and even contacted IGT’s legal department after my account was locked mid-spin with $80 worth of purchased chips. They kept everything, never credited it back. And you’re right—they recently updated the terms to include language that blocks class action suits. IGT knows exactly what they’re doing

Lmao I filed a complaint w/ the BBB too and got the same BS — “we’re not responsible for gameplay outcomes.” So yeah, they just take your money and hit you with a damn shrug. Whole support team feels like a freakin' clown convention

It’s disgusting they’re even considering going real money with this track record. IGT should be held accountable before expanding further into online gambling

I worked in game QA a while back—not for IGT, but similar. These “technical issues” aren’t random. Most of the time, it’s controlled throttling disguised as glitches
